Gaius (or Publius) Cornelius Tacitus (c. 56 A.D. – c. 120 A.D.) was an Roman historian and politician. The few information available about him comes from his own works and some anecdotal testimonies from other writers like Pliny, the Younger, that was his personal friend. His works are known for objectiveness and concision, and they considered a challenge for translators. Germania and Agricola are among his earlier texts and are some of the main sources about ancient people of Britain and Germany.
