About the Author

Michelle Kelley is an associate professor in reading at the University of Central Florida, teaching pre-service educators and graduate students. She also provides professional development to teachers and administrators. Michelle previously taught in Maine and Florida and served as a professional developer for FLaRE (Florida Literacy and Reading Excellence Center). She is the co-author of Teaching Text Features to Support Comprehension and Reading the Whole Page: Teaching and Assessing Text Features to Meet K-5 Common Core Standards.

Nicki Clausen-Grace is a fourth-grade teacher with more than twenty five years of experience. She also serves as a consultant for educators and parents. Nicki is the co-author of Teaching Text Features to Support Comprehension and Reading the Whole Page: Teaching and Assessing Text Features to Meet K-5 Common Core Standards.
