About the Author

Mike Cater Sr. is the son of Ida Carolyn Axe Cater Olson and William Danford Cater of Emporia, Kansas.  His Stepfather, Raymond Dean Olson, retired as a farmer outside of Pomona, Kansas after a long career as a road grader operator for several construction companies.
Mike was married to Barbara M. Hook of Pomona, Kansas in 1962 at Ouenemo, Kansas. Mike and Barbara will enjoy their 52nd wedding anniversary in 2014.  Mike and Barbara have lived in Lawrence, Kansas for 25 years.  Mike retired from Honeywell Avionics Inc. where he worked as a Senior Facilities Technician for 31 years.

Mike Cater was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 1st, 1943. He lived out his childhood in Emporia, Kansas. He is the youngest of three children. His oldest brother, Robert L. Cater, lived in California for most of his life, and his older brother, Bill Cater, lives in Southeast Kansas today. Mike Cater Sr. now lives in Lawrence, Kansas.
