About the Author

Howard Lee Sprague was born in the village of Suffern, New York. Memories of growing up in the small town until age seven with his eight cousins prompted him to write a book, for family, titled Growing up In Suffern After 30 years in the insurance industry, Howard decided to retire in 2006 to do the things he enjoyed and give back to his community. Life after retirement includes bowling, political involvement, volunteering at St. Mary’s Food Bank and Phoenix Rotary 100. The desire to write and encouragement from Vickie resulted in Howard writing the Growing up in Suffern book; a short story - A Christmas Vacation; two children books - A Cat and Proud of it and Snowflake’s Vacation. Realizing that readers enjoy reading his books, Howard decided to write novels. He is looking forward to the publishing of A Necessary Killing in the summer of 2013 In addition to the two novels Howard has spent a year writing nine stories about people who have turned their lives around for a book to be released by a local charity.
