Synopsis

The Hidden Sailor Take a roller coaster journey through the career and life of a young man who joins the military needing and wanting discipline, fitness and a place to belong. This is an in depth look at a young mans life in the Royal Navy, the bits you never hear about, like setting fire to his bunk space, getting knocked out for pranks, and even being instrumental in getting USA sailors locked up. Follow him through adrenalin inducing escapades, emotional and physical challenges. Learn about the camaraderie, the trials of climbing the career ladder, the loss of friends. Experience the antics of the average sailor, witness things that anyone outside the service doesn't know or hear about. The hidden sailor is for the young guy who is considering joining up, the old sailor who left years ago, the parent who is not sure about their child joining. It's a good read for all ages, light hearted most of the time, solemn for good reason at the right time. The complete Hidden Sailor covers thirty two years of a sailors life, from what is known as a sprog on joining, to a Warrant Officer first class with an MSM on leaving. Spanning decades of change, some good, some bad. You are invited on this fantastic journey, enjoy the experience.

He is married to Tracey, has three adult children including a son currently in the RN, who joined just before Paul finished 32 years service, during which time he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal MSM for his contribution to the RN.
