About the Author

Gary H. Baker grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and is proud to claim his status as an “original baby boomer”. The class of ’46 was just that, and it marched off into the 60s as a force to be reckoned with. While some protested, and some sought peace and love, Gary did a four year enlistment in the Navy and pulled a tour of duty off the coast of Vietnam. He later earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii and a master’s degree in alternative education from Indiana University. Along the way Gary worked as a bouncer, bartender, teacher, coach, coffee salesman, insurance salesman, financial services broker, lawn care business owner, and truck driver. Gary currently calls himself a novelist. In 1986, Gary ran two thousand seven hundred miles in four months to promote the Just Say No clubs, the forerunner to DARE (drug abuse resistance education). Gary sees his writing as an attempt to follow God. Jesus is his Savior, and Gary will tell you quickly that he falls short most of the time, but that won’t keep him from trying again.
