About the Author:
Debra Ann Harper was born in Gilmer, Texas. Her mother was an East Texas farm girl and her father was a Navy Airman who served during the Korean War. Her father became ill following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy and spent the majority of his life as a resident of VA hospitals. Her grandparents, Cicely Bivens Pool and George Clifton Pool, provided loving family support for Debra, her mother, and her brother. Debra received her high school diploma from Garland High School in Garland, Texas. She earned an associate’s degree in education and music from Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and reading from the University of Houston-Clear Lake City. She received a master’s degree in educational administration from California State University San Bernardino and a doctorate in educational leadership and technology from University of Phoenix. Debra serves as a teacher for the Fontana Unified School District in Fontana, California. Her service in education also includes working for the Baldwin Park Unified School District in Baldwin Park California and the Angleton Independent School District in Angleton, Texas. She is past president of the Board of Directors for the High Desert Homeless Services in Victorville, California and the CEO/Owner of Harper Learning Company also in Victorville, California. The mission of Harper Learning Company is to provide educational services in support of the philosophical belief that LEARNING IS EVERYTHING!
