Era un hombre de rostro sereno que vestía infatigablemente traje y corbata. Su ceguera se apoyaba en un bastón pulsado por las manos de poeta. Concibió libros admirables cuyo destino fue dar mas luz a la literatura. Escribió un poema en que lamenta no haber sido feliz y donde afirma que siempre lo persiguió: la sombra de haber sido desdichado. Sin embargo, ese personaje distante en apariencia prodigaba alegría cuando conversaba.
