About the Author

One of the greater guitarists and teachers of Brazil, Moacyr Teixeira Neto counts with a detached musical resume. Best interpreter in the Villa-Lobos National Competition, 1� Place in M�ster Degree in Universidade Federal de M�sica do Rio de Janeiro, 1� and 2� places respectively in Concurso Nacional Souza Lima in S�o Paulo finalista at Augustin Barrios Competition in Paraguay and anothers. Master in Music for the UFRJ, with Classical Guitar specialization, the guitarist has perfomances in several cities like Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Jo�o Pessoa, Vit�ria, S�o Paulo beyond Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Asunci�n (Paraguay), Montevideo (Uruguay) and Milan (Italy). Teacher invited for important events like “Festival Internacional de Domingos Martins”, “Mostra e Concurso Fred Schneiter”, “Semin�rio Internacional Vital Medeiros” and “Festival Internacional Eduardo Fabini” (Uruguay). Already it was presented with diverse brazilian orchestras, playing concerts as “2nd Concert for Guitar Op. 160” by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, “From Yesterday to Penny Lane” by cuban composer Leo Brouwer and recently made the premi�re in the South America of the “Trio. Op. 9” by Ferdinando Carulli. Representative of Brazil in the “Curso M�sica en Compostela” (Spain) and in the “Festival Internacional Augustin Barrios” (Paraguay), is also teacher at Acordes Centro de M�sica e Artes and Faculdade de M�sica do Esp�rito Santo (FAMES) where co-ordinates the Strings Nucleus. For him had been dedicated pieces by important composers like Carlos Cruz, Maur�cio de Oliveira, Ricardo Tacuchian, Marcos Vin�cius among others. He recorded 3 Cds about the universe of brazilian music for guitar: “Imagens Brasileiras” (1999), “Embolada” (2001), “Documentos da M�sica Capixaba para Cordas” (2003) and he�s author of the book “M�sica Brasileira para Viol�o” (1998), one of the few on the classical guitar history in Brazil. Its first solo CD “Gravuras do Viol�o” got enormous success being awardee with a concerts series by Secretariat of Culture in his state. Spear in 2009 his second solo CD “Viol�o das Americas”, emphasizing the guitar of three americas, already reaching repercussion in the specialized media and now prepare the CD “Tributo ao Viol�o” with dedicated pieces to the guitarist.
