While exploring a cave beside the beautiful Etowah River Stone and Stuart Pickett found a pouch of human bones that were used by a Native American shaman. Stuart began to use the bones to call on the powers of necromancy to make extraordinary things happen. A dichotomy of events ensues that put both brothers in legal jeopardy and casts Stuart’s soul into eternal danger. Stone must find the key to unlock the mysteries of Stuart’s fate before it is too late. On the surface Stuart finds that he has the Midas touch with everything he does, yet under the surface his older, wiser brother sees that a path of destruction and death follows closely on his heels. Stone undertakes a relentless quest to unlock the mysteries of the bones, but the closer he gets to the truth the more elusive and perilous it becomes. Will Stone find the answers in time before anyone else dies and Stuart slides into the shadow world of evil? Stone’s desire to help his brother brings him face to face with his own demons while he wrestles with issues of faith, power and control. The price he pays along the way proves to be more than he expected.

JK Dent, known to family and friends as Jim, was born and grew up in Rome, GA. He attended public school in the elementary grades and then transferred to Darlington where he completed sixth through twelfth grades. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia, he worked with chronic psychiatric patients in the inner city of Atlanta. His first major career change led him to spend the next 14 years in Sales and getting an MBA. His career progressed to managing a motorsports marketing program for a company that sponsored a NASCAR race team. Jim then decided to answer a calling of faith, and worked three years as a full time missionary with Mercy Ships in the home office, bringing hope and healing to the world’s poor. During that time he also worked freelance with TV networks covering NASCAR races. Yet another career turn and Jim spent 10 years as a consultant and process improvement expert until he finally put his fingers to the keyboard to write a novel that had brewed in his mind for nearly 25 years, The Necromancer of Etowah. Jim lives with his wife, Ali Dent, and their two sons in San Antonio, TX. Their daughters Mallari and Matti are grown and live on their own. Mallari has a career in Kentucky and Matti lives with her husband and five sons in Texas.
