About the Author

Dr. Rivers has over 28 years of leadership and management experience in nursing and healthcare including nearly 14 years in executive level leadership. Dr. Rivers' professional passions are leadership development at all levels, interdisciplinary team-building and conflict engagement. She is an active American Nurses Credentialing Center Magnet™ appraiser, trained Compassion Fatigue educator, and Crucial Conversations facilitator. Dr. Rivers has been the recipient of several leadership awards and recognition, including: Robert Wood Johnson 3-Year Nurse Executive Fellowship; Nurse Administrator of the Year from the Florida Nurses Association, the Florida Organization of Nurse Executives, and the National Black Nurses Association; and recognition for leadership excellence from the American Association of Critical-care Nurses. She has also been inducted into the National Black Nurses Association’s Institute of Excellence and is a Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academy of Practice. Dr. Rose Rivers is married to the Rev. Sinclair Rivers Jr. (aka. Tee). Tee and Rose are the proud parents of 3 adult children; Sinclair III, Keesha, and Charity. Rose and Tee enjoy fishing, trips to the mountains, and just being together.
