About the Author
Best-selling author Garrett Carter has a passion for education and working with tomorrow's leaders. With over a decade of experience in education, Garrett has taught in both K-12 and higher education settings. Garrett strongly believes that children should not limit themselves by only having one dream; instead, they should have many dreams. Additionally, the author is an advocate for increasing the diversity of main characters in children's books. Having earned a B.S. and M.Ed. from the University of Cincinnati, Garrett is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education Policy Studies at Indiana University, where he also serves as an Associate Instructor.

Garrett Carter's children's book, I Want to Be a Singer and a Lawyer (Lainey's Singer and Career Series, Book 1), is inspiring and entertaining all at once. Lainey's dad is supportive of her dream while, at the same time, he helps her focus on some other things she enjoys. I was so impressed with Carter's clear and perceptive presentation of what a lawyer does. Each page has brightly colored images that work perfectly with the story. I Want to Be a Singer and a Lawyer (Lainey's Singer and Career Series, Book 1) is a first-rate children's book and is most highly recommended.- Readers' Favorite
