Eating, Exercising and Supplementing for Maximal Healthspan is a collection of four monographs, written for intelligent non-specialists but backed by hundreds of pertinent scientific citations, providing practical guidance for those who wish to remain lean, vigorous and healthy for as long as is feasible. Low-Fat, Lower Salt, Whole-Food Vegan explains how natural plant-based diets can reduce risk for coronary disease, stroke, diabetes, a range of “Western” cancers, autoimmune diseases, dementia, and a host of other disorders — all while promoting leanness. Exercising for Leanness — the Mini-Fast with Exercise Strategy offers a simple clinically validated regimen for making your aerobic exercise highly effective for burning off excess fat and keeping it off — without any calorie counting. Effective Nutraceutical Strategies for Controlling Oxidative Stress sets forth a novel approach to antioxidant supplementation, featuring spirulina, astaxanthin, high-dose folate, and other nutraceuticals, that has considerable potential for preserving health and managing a wide range of diseases. And Practical Strategies for Preserving Good Cognitive Function into Old Age explores a range of lifestyle strategies — food choices, exercise training, nutraceuticals, and drugs — that may have potential for minimizing your risk for dementia as you get older.
