Wilderman’s Treetop Tales is a collection of whimsical lyrics and paintings created by International award-winning songwriter, Chad Elliott. Think, “Shel Silverstein,” with more color and music. The book is designed for ages 3-10 and contains both heartwarming and giggle-worthy poetry accompanied by Chad’s own illustrations.
Don't forget to check out the children's music album that compliments this book! Chad, who has been performing original songs for 20 years and is a winner of the Woody Guthrie Song contest, brings 10 of the lyrics from the book to life in the companion music album, sold separately and also titled Wilderman’s Treetop Tales.
Together, the book and album create an interdisciplinary offering of art, music and writing which allows the whole family to embrace wild imagination. Learn more about the project at www.wildermansbooks.com.

"Normally billed as a folk singer, Elliott's songs all tell finely crafted stories and his mastery of written word is apparent on all of them." - Broken Jukebox.com Chad Elliott was always hoping to be a visual artist. He grew up painting and drawing while acting in community theater productions and singing in choirs. Something changed when he picked up a guitar and slowly taught himself how to play and write songs. Painting images could also be created with words and melodies. Stories could paint pictures for listeners without the mess. He immediately started performing his original songs while still pursuing art and going to graduate school for art. Now averaging close to 200 shows per year, Elliott has been on the road for nearly 20 years taking audiences on a roller coaster of humor, whimsy and down home storytelling and song each night. His music has been featuring on Iowa Public Radio's- Java Blend and several Iowa Public Television documentaries. He still works as an artist while residing in Coon Rapids, IA with his wife, Alyssa, and three wonderful children. Inspired by his favorite children's author Shel Silverstein, Chad has just finished a children's book and album of song lyrics and poems called Wilderman's Treetop Tales. Learn more about Wilderman’s at www.wildermansbooks.com. He is also currently working on his 20th studio album of Americana music in Nashville, set to release in 2015. "Wilderman's Treetop Tales, written and illustrated by Chad Elliott, is a delightful collection of lyrical poetry and stories ... Author Chad Elliott has outdone himself by incorporating music, poetry, stories, and illustrations all into one book. ...The audio CD, although sold separately, is a must-have addition to this book. It enhances the experience of reading these wonderful stories and poems greatly, and is well worth the small fee to purchase alongside the book." - Reviewed by Michelle Robertson for Readers' Favorite
"Wilderman's Treetop Tales tug at our hearts and our imaginations. ... Elliott brings common childhood experiences to life through lyrics and illustrations that invite us all to join the story and even add our own verses. Yes, Elliott's engaging language and illustrations give a delightful context for literacy learning, but most of all, let's travel alongside Wilderman's as we embrace the journey." - Review by Julie Finnern, Assistant Professor of Literacy Education & Assistant Dean of Buena Vista University, School of Education
