Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda (Camagüey, 1814 - Madrid, 1873), llamada coloquialmente «Tula», fue una escritora y poetisa del romanticismo hispanoamericano. Precursora del feminismo en España y una de las más grandes poetisas de la lengua castellana según la consideración de Marcelino Menéndez y Pelayo. Está considerada, además, como una de las precursoras de la novela hispanoamericana.
