Synopsis
In these semi-autobiographical stories the author recreates his sometimes mischievous youth during the 1950's and 1960's living in a small town in northern California; tales of wrecking buildings, card sharks, dirt track racing, a night spent in jail, and travels around the United States; then in the 1970's his ten month stay in the Cotswolds in England as a student of G.I. Gurdjieff’s disciple, John G. Bennett; and later, after settling into the practice of law his introduction to fly fishing at famous Hat Creek in the shadow of Mt. Shasta, reflections on the celebrities he “almost” met, and a round of golf in the Old South with a Baptist Deacon intent on converting him. This is the author’s fourth book of stories, following Burdens And Bearers, Stories Tales And Voices, and The Christmas Giants And Other Stories.
