About the Author

I was brought up in a quaint little town called Somersworth, NH. The "in" thing to do was to go to Villa Pizza on weekends, best pizza ever! I was pretty shy growing up until I hit my teens and then became a little more adventurous and daring. In middle school I loved mathematics and averaged C's in class. English I didn't care for and ironically I averaged A's and B's. Today I'm an aspiring writer due to inspiration and I love it! Some of my other interests have always been dance, swimming and horses. As I have grown older I have done things that I never thought I would do such as knit, draw, write, and cosmetology which I really enjoy today. My favorites are great restaurants, good conversations, travel, comedy and always beach time. Today, I believe the things that I have faced in life, for example my mom dying when I was 16 and a half years old (who was paralyzed from the waist down due to a car accident when I was 4), being separated from my brother as kids, and not having a father or a father figure as a positive role model in my life. I was affected by alcoholism, addiction and loss at such a young age, it has brought on all kinds of self-centered fears, false securities, despair at times, and a lack of trust in this world. Being an active woman in recovery for over 18 years has been challenging and rewarding, worth every step for the "Grace Card" today. It has changed my perception on life for the better, coming from self-pity, self-hate and unworthiness. The actions I have taken and continue to carry out are simple; I stay in the "SOLUTIONS" of living my life every day! Material gifts are things I will always cherish however the best gift is the comfort of being in my own skin and the integrity I have built. I have peace within myself and I like who I am, and that I am no longer driven by my fears to use people, substances or material things as a solution to my fears, doubts and insecurities. My brother and I have reconnected and continue to build our relationship with one another. I have restored faith in my relationships with people, life and spirituality! I accept life as it is and for what it brings. Most importantly, I have the opportunity to help those who suffer from similar circumstances and assist them to recover and guide them into their own identity and build integrity and grace.
