Of all the relationships women engage in on a daily basis – friend, lover, wife, mother, co-worker, boss – the one we seem to have the most trouble with is actually the most important relationship of all: the one we have with ourselves. I’m Not A Barbie! aims to end our non-existent and, in some cases self-destructive, relationship with ourselves and the others in our lives. How? By learning to understand what goes into a relationship, steps for making it work and how to fix it when it’s broken. Whether you’re sheets-deep in a brand new romantic relationship, struggling as a new wife – or new mother – this book will teach you that all relationships improve once you learn to handle your own first. The book focuses on such topics as: • Categorizing Who You Choose to Be • Making the Mind-Body Connection • Understanding Behaviors • Six Steps for Sexual Intimacy • A Guide to Healthy Relationships • Being A Wife, A Lover and a Mommy • Being a Woman Boss, a Working Wife and/or Mother Through structured guidance, practice advice, stories, witticisms, anecdotes and more, this book will help women find their power and grow, heal or, in some cases, start relationships that enhance their lives. It is also a very useful guide for men! Mature Audience

Cathy Rafferty always had a strong passion for books. She spent countless hours going through books and encyclopedias from bookshelves that her parents had set up for her and her brother when they were still very young.
While still a student - she studied general psychology at Concordia University - she carried out several positions at different administrative offices, until administration became her full-time job.
A few years later, settled down and pregnant with her first child, her desire to write became stronger than ever so she decided to undertake writing courses.
Cathy is also very passionate about philanthropy. She donates and lends to different organizations, and she is presently developing a website to help promote and give worldwide exposure to independent artists.
Today, she is able to combine these two passions with her first published book titled I AM NOT A BARBIE, from which some of the profits will go to the Canadian Women's Foundation.
