The exciting story of Martin Luther, told through the eyes of his children Hans and Magda. This colorful, 88-page "comic book" is geared especially toward children ages 8 to 13, but will intrigue all ages. Especially works well with confirmation programs in congregations.

Papa Luther: A Graphic Novel was a delight to research and write. Since my non-fiction brand deals with stories of personal and societal transformation, the book fits well within the scope of not only how Martin Luther changed his own perception of a grace-centered Creator, but also how he transformed the Church and society to think differently about the role an individual plays. In fact, historians have made a convincing case that without Martin Luther's influence, the United States may not have come into existence!
Beyond his role as a church reformer, what I endeavored to achieve with this work is to view his story in a fresh light--namely through the eyes of his children, Hans and Magda. It's my belief that the lovely artwork Caitlyn Like produced for the book, as well as the story, will engage young minds and hearts for generations. The gift of the "comic book" is that many ages can enjoy and learn to grow into the story of the Reformer whose proclamation 500 years ago set off a firestorm of reforms and a new way of thinking.
I'm especially excited to hear that many confirmation classes are using this resource, not only as a way to come to know the Reformer's work and history, but also as a way to get at how loving he and his wife, Katie, were with their children!
