About the Author:
"

El doctor César Garcés nació en Lima, Perú. En el año 1975 viajó a los Estados Unidos. Trabajó en el Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center desde 1997 hasta 2013.

Desde el año 1997 se desempeña como psicoterapeuta en el Queens Neuropsychiatric Institute, Queens, Nueva York, al igual que en el Community Counseling Services en Center Moriches, Nueva York.

El doctor Garcés tiene vasta experiencia en centros hospitalarios y centros de salud mental, así como también con personas de diferentes grupos étnicos y multiculturales.

Ha publicado diversos artículos sobre trabajo social en España, Latinoamérica y Puerto Rico. También ha participado en conferencias internacionales de trabajo social en Perú, Chile y Ecuador.

En el año 2002 publicó The Social Worker in the Emergency Room (Disertación doctoral).

En el año 2013 publicó su segundo libro en inglés: Social Work in the Hospital Setting-Interventions. En el año 2014 publicó su segundo libro en español: El trabajador social en el centro hospitalario: Intervenciones.

El 28 de abril del año 2017 recibió el IV Premio a la Excelencia en Trabajo Social de la Organización Internacional de Trabajo Social (OITS) en Santiago, Chile.
