Synopsis

Of the 7 billion people in the world, the last to be connected will be people in Africa, yet this growing connectivity has the potential for radically changing Africa for the better. Africa has always been immensely rich, which has led to its exploitation over hundreds of years by brutal and unscrupulous outsiders. Dave Welmans examines the legacy of this and the effects on Africa today. The Last Billion covers the technological impact of the past, examines what has led to the dramatic change in Africa over the last 15 years, and looks at the future impact of specific technologies in Africa. The technological revolution sweeping through Africa will create new opportunities and fundamentally change the way we do business in Africa in future.
