About the Author:

The early death of two close family members due to conditions that resulted from poor behavioral choices, forced a realization of the fragility of life which sparked a focus on the effects of positive choices and a passion for prevention. For Eryn that journey began after graduating from Oakwood University with a B.S fitness & wellness then, earning a master’s in public health from Walden University (community health emphases). Along the way she gained diverse experience as a personal trainer (working as a personal trainer for one of the largest national fitness clubs in the U.S), health educator and wellness program director who also has a degree in physical therapy. Lessons learned from those experiences provides the unique ability to create practical & engaging movement centered programs with the health science of disease prevention. The success of two small team programs within a community college system and the counties health programs provided her the confidence needed to launch out and create Just Muv Consulting. Of those programs one was implemented statewide and the other led to the policy and enforcement of a smoke-free campus (respectively). As the program director she enjoys working on projects involving condition specific outreach & advocacy (cancer, mental health, childhood obesity), believing that health promotion along with being active is essential to realizing improvement to quality of life. Creating a health & fitness program for a local 5th grade class to combat childhood obesity is one that she is most proud of as one of the outcomes yielded a 78% increase PA & increase fruit & vegi. intake. Some of the current programs include but are not limited to servicing health contracts with the state of CA & other groups, accepting speaking engagements & running sports & exercise classes with her mobile fitness products. Some affiliations include being active members of ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), Healthy Kids Network (IEHP), IEHEA (Inland Empire Health Educators Alliance), residence on the charter community advisory committee for My Hair My Health Women's conference through Champions for Change African American Campaign.
