God’s presence was designed to empower us to make an impact on the world around us. His presence was designed to change and transform us to be everything He’s called us to be. His presence was designed to set us apart from the rest of the world. “Then Moses said to him, ‘If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?’" (Exodus 33:15-16, NIV). The goal is not to just have a “visitation” of God’s presence, but to have a “habitation.” This book is a journey from performance to presence. It lays a foundation upon which everything else can be built. You can be taught how to prophesy, how to heal the sick, or how to cast out demons. Yet if it doesn’t come from a foundation of knowing who you are and why you are, from a foundation of a passion for His presence, and from the foundation of a right perspective of who God is, it’s not sustainable. God won’t endorse a false view of Himself or of you. Many people want the “wiz-bang-God-candy” of the supernatural, but most often they just “bolt it on to their false identity, and performance mentality.” The supernatural needs to flow from our “who,” not from our “do.” "Sustaining Presence" really is about creating a landing pad for the supernatural presence of God. Whether you desire more of an awareness of His presence in your personal life or in an environment that you're apart of this book is for you.
