Synopsis
After several years on the job, Conservation Officer Wayne Coleman is able to conduct his duties effectively and confidently, protecting Michigan's natural resources in Menominee County. Officer Coleman's new adventures include stories with humor, sadness, excitement and intrigue. Ride along with Wayne as he lives the life of a "Woods Cop" in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The family life of a Conservation Officer is described in detail. The Coleman residence is taken over by a family of uninvited guests. Patrol Boat PB-4 nearly sinks under a load of heavy winter spray ice. A group of trespassing Wild Turkey Hunters commit the perfect crime - almost. Officer Coleman arrests an old commercial fisherman and learns how fishing was back in "The good old days". Officer Coleman solicits the help of a local taxidermist to curb the unsafe practice of "road hunting". Several incidents develop to make life for officer Coleman frightening and dangerous. Sometimes Officer Coleman just can't catch a break 'no matter which way he turns'. Officer Wayne spends many frustrating hours trying to outwit Nature's engineers. About the Author
Author Wayne Coleman Spent a career as a Conservation Officer in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. His journey to attain his life's goal include a bachelor's degree, a hitch in the U S Army and a tour in Vietnam, and seven years as a State Park Ranger. Officer Coleman is now retired and lives in Newaygo with his wife, two cats and a dog.
