Synopsis

She is young, beautiful, powerful—and the last surviving heir to the throne. In a galaxy divided by loyalty and ambition, two brothers are determined to shape her destiny.

An unexpected visit to the doctor's office changes Sevenah Williams's life forever. What begins as a routine appointment uncovers an impossible truth: she is not entirely human. The revelation launches her on a journey to uncover the mystery of her birth, the identity of her parents, and the tragic events that forced her into hiding as a toddler.

Embracing her true identity as Eena, the last living heir to the throne of Harrowbeth, she accepts a royal destiny she never sought. But claiming her birthright comes at a steep cost. Through a painful union with an ancient heirloom known as the Dragon's Soul, Eena awakens extraordinary abilities that allow her to manipulate energy—powers that make her both a symbol of hope and the primary target of ruthless enemies determined to extinguish her bloodline forever.

As danger closes in, Eena finds unexpected allies: Derian, the steadfast captain of the Kemeniroc; Ian, her loyal best friend and sworn protector; Kira, a fearless Mishmorat; and Shanks, the formidable leader of a race of warrior Viiduns. Together, they stand against those who would destroy Harrowbeth's future.

Yet Eena's greatest battles are not fought on the battlefield. They lie within her own heart. Torn between duty and the ordinary life she longs to reclaim, she must learn to trust, to love, and to shoulder the responsibilities of a queen while still yearning for the simple fun of adolescence—where her biggest worry should have been choosing a dress for prom.

Eena, The Dawn and Rescue is an epic blend of science fiction, fantasy, adventure, romance, and coming-of-age storytelling that introduces the unforgettable beginning of the Harrowbethian Saga.

About the Author

Richelle E. Goodrich was born in Utah but spent most of her childhood and adult life in Central Washington where she raised three amazing young men and then sent them off to college. The author now resides in Oklahoma, enjoying the blessings of a new, happy marriage. In her twenties, Richelle graduated from Eastern Washington University with bachelor's degrees in Liberal Studies and Natural Science / Mathematics Education, but she has always had a strong love of the arts. She sketches, paints, plays some piano and guitar, writes original stories and poetry, keeps a running blogsite, and has acted in theatrical plays.  Her quotes have been published numerous places including the Oxford Philosophy Being Human Course Book, in eight separate Chicken Soup for the Soul books, in a Revlon magazine ad campaign, and on a television episode of Alone. Richelle loves growing as an author, and writes new material whenever opportunity presents itself. She describes herself beautifully in the following quote:

"I like bubbles in everything. I respect the power of silence. In cold or warm weather, I favor a mug of hot cocoa. I admire cats—their autonomy, grace, and mystery. I awe at the fiery colors in a sunset. I believe in deity. I hear most often with my eyes, and I will trust a facial expression before any accompanying comment. I invent rules, words, adventures, and imaginary friends. I pretend something wonderful every day. I will never quit pretending."

From the Back Cover

She was young and beautiful and the last living heir to the throne. Why wouldn't two brothers fight to influence her?

Sevenah Williams lives a quiet farm life with her parents and best friend, Ian. Life is good and predictable until the unexpected yanks her from the only reality she remembers. Forced from home, her tragic and forgotten past is pieced together revealing that Sevenah is in fact heir to the throne of Harrowbeth; she is the last living of royal blood able to don a unique heirloom necklace. Given the new name, Eena, she and Ian set off for a new home, dodging nightmarish enemies in the process. All the while great powers granted by the enchanted necklace slowly emerge and develop.

Eena is assisted by the militia sent to retrieve their queen, commanded by the bossy and intimidating Captain Derian. Though Ian and Derian endeavor to protect her, Eena is abducted by a charming, silver-tongued man. She finds herself forced to choose sides in a civil war she hardly understands. Which rival has the power to convince her of his nobleness and gain her ultimate support?

From the Inside Flap

Life is a valuable and unique opportunity
to discover who you are.
But it seems as soon as you near
answering that age-old question,
something unexpected always happens
to alter your course.
And who it is you thought you were
suddenly changes.

Then comes the frustrating realization
that no matter how long life endures,
no matter how many experiences
are muddled through in this existence,
you may never really be able
to answer the question....

Who am I?

Because the answer, like the seasons,
constantly, subtly, inevitably changes.
And who it is you are today,
is not the same person you will be tomorrow.
