Leadership has always been a vital feature in improving productivity in organizations. Leadership provides the oversight necessary to assure that lower level direct reports are performing their responsibilities as required. Leadership is the fuel that runs the engine of the organization. If there is not enough fuel or if the fuel is contaminated, the engine cannot perform efficiently. First time leaders, who often times are promoted up the ranks, must become knowledgeable of the principles of leadership and equipped with the necessary business and managerial tools. Without these basic ingredients, first time leaders would most likely not achieve their leadership goals. This book presents the essentials of effective leadership and guides the first time leader through the processes they need to become familiar with and implement.
