***New & Improved Edition with More Recipes, New Sketches & More Crucial Tips!***

Learn to Cook & Learn About the Universe at the Same Time!

A Friendly Alien Cooking Robot Pays a Visit to Earth
Alien Cooking Robot 4U82 accidentally landed in Frederick’s backyard. During his stay on Earth, 4U82 taught Frederick how to cook many delicious recipes and shared eye-opening, jaw-dropping facts about astronomy, robotics, and the Universe. AN ALIEN ROBOT’S COOKBOOK features 95 quick easy recipes for kids and adults, from “Big Bang Breakfast Potatoes” to “Energizing Horchata” – And a panel of picky eaters taste-tested them all! This kids cookbook will delight dormant astronomers, curious readers, and emerging cooks.

AN ALIEN ROBOT’S COOKBOOK has been Verified!
Deborah Madison, author of "Vegetarian Cooking for Everyone" and "Local Flavors” said: "What a goofy, fun and ultimately usable book -both for kids and adults. I mean, who can resist "Pigs in Spaceships" or "Realistic Corn Fritters?" I loved reading 'An Alien Robot's Cookbook.' It made me smile. I imagine anyone could cook from it and have real food, and the drawings are out of this world!"

Do You Want to Gain Superpowers?
Do you get excited when you think about stirring with spoons, whipping with whisks, and chopping (vegetables) with knives? Cooking is one of the best kids activities because it engages the hands, the mind, the spirit, and the superpowers. Cooking boosts logic skills, math abilities, intuition, and artistic inclinations. Cooking opens a portal to a promising social life. Any way you cut it, cooking is a very valuable skill.

Do You Want to Impress Your Parents?
Do your parents worry that you will never learn to cook? Are they getting tired of fixing you breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Do they think you're old enough to get your own bowl of cereal? Well, it’s time you showed the adults a thing or two. AN ALIEN ROBOT’S COOKBOOK is the easiest cookbook for learning how to cook. Parents, try a different approach! Get your kids cooking. The children will soon be serving the adults.

Do You Want to Have a Big Brain?
Is a robe is a good or bad garment to cook in? Do you know how to start a compost pile? Do you know what “magnetosphere” and “mis-en-place” mean? Who is Philip K. Dick? You will find the answers to these questions and many more. Our studies indicate that your brain will expand exponentially when you read AN ALIEN ROBOT'S COOKBOOK. This book is for anyone who wants to learn to cook and for anyone who wants to learn.

Upset That You Don't Know How to Make Quiche?
Well, you are entitled to your feelings, but you are also entitled to master quiche-making. This kids’ cookbook includes 95 recipes that range from “Easy” to “Challenging.” Each recipe is rated for difficulty. Maybe right now you can't tell a pan from a pancake. That's okay. This cookbook will introduce you to healthy eating for kids (including vegan recipes and vegetarian recipes), & this book will also teach you amazing facts about astronomy.

About The Author and Illustrators
At age 8, Ru Kunkel knew she’d have a restaurant someday and in 1993, she opened the Delta of Venus Coffeehouse and Pub. The popular café is still open today. Many of the book’s recipes were first introduced and enjoyed there. Currently, Ru works one-on-one with kids at a community mental health clinic. Part of why Ru wrote AN ALIEN ROBOT’S COOKBOOK was to help kids (like her own) with self-esteem and coping skills. With original sketches by Gabe, Joe, and Ru Kunkel on virtually every page, AN ALIEN ROBOT’S COOKBOOK is truly a family affair, designed to entertain young readers. Join in the adventure with this funny, easy-to-read cookbook for both beginning and experienced cooks.

About the Author

Imagination, creativity, and happiness are very important to me. My love of cooking stemmed from making food (and eating food) with my mother. I often day-dreamed about having my own restaurant. Twenty or so years later, after graduating from UC Davis with a degree in English Literature, I was lucky enough to open and run my own cafe (Delta of Venus Cafe in Davis, Ca) with my best friend.

After selling the cafe, I got married and had two kids. I learned that parenting wasn't always easy. I started writing regularly to express myself and to alleviate some stress. I scribbled down my favorite recipes from the cafe and made a concerted effort to encourage my sons to broaden their food-related horizons. I wanted them to eat well and to become more self-sufficient. I envisioned them cooking for me someday.

So I decided to create a cookbook, based on their favorite things--outer space and robots. As part of the process, I invited my older son Gabe to contribute some of his far-out drawings to illustrate the book. In the second edition, Joe's original art also appears, as do some of my own sketches.

Today I have a Master's degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and I work mainly with children. Our family lives in the first cohousing community intentionally built in the United States. It feels like camp everyday. Living here has given me many things, including the opportunity to cook for about fifty neighbors each month. These folks generously helped taste-test all of the recipes in "An Alien Robot's Cookbook." Thanks, neighbors!

Peace, love, and waffles!
