Synopsis
Curious McCarthy, named after the famous scientist Marie Curie, has decided to become a scientist herself. Her first hypothesis: That her mischievous younger brother will get noticed before her proper oldest sister, Charlotte. Using footnotes filled with funny observations, Curious invites readers to read her observations about her first days at a new school with an old-fashioned teacher and her entertaining evenings at home with her six brothers and sisters. A fun experiment brings the science to life and a glossary and discussion and writing prompts provide reader support.

About the Author
Tory Christie is a real scientist by day and secretly writes children’s books at night. When it is light outside, she studies rocks and water. After dark, she writes silly science stories that kids and grownups can laugh about. Check out her latest series, Curious McCarthy, and explore science with Curious and her zany family. Tory Christie grew up in a large family, but her family was nothing like the McCarthys ― honestly. The McCarthys are completely fiction ― really. Mina Price is an American illustrator and designer. She has a particular affinity for book illustration and character design, or basically any project that allows her to draw interesting people in cool outfits. Mina graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in Illustration. She enjoys finding ways to seamlessly marry traditional and digital art, going from scanner to Photoshop to printer to paint and back again. When she is not drawing, Mina can frequently be found baking things with lots of sugar or getting way too emotional over a good book.
