From a single violent encounter grew one young boy's desire to confront his demons and reach his potential through martial arts. He soon realised that his journey to black belt would shape his life much more than reaching the destination. My Code of Combat is a 'no holds barred' account of one man's journey to black belt in martial arts and what can be expected emotionally and personally along the way.

Adam Gold was born in 1978 and walked into his first dojo at the age of 15. Since then he has studied various styles including Karate, Taekwon-Do and Jiu-Jitsu and has a keen interest in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). Adam holds black belts in 2 martial arts but is a firm believer in the 'journey' rather than the 'destination'. Having competed extensively in the late 90s Adam took up mixed martial arts and discovered that he still had a lot of work to do before he considered himself a more rounded stylist. From studying standing styles Adam diversified into arts covering close quarters and ground fighting. By repeating cycles and becoming a beginner over and over Adam wanted to write a book that would serve as a reference for those beginners who might be apprehensive about what to expect when they first step into the dojo and undertake their martial journey. Apart from being a keen martial artist Adam likes many aspects of health and fitness and enjoys quality time with his wife and two daughter who are a continual source of motivation for him. Adam also runs several martial arts schools for adults and children and looks forward to introducing his martial arts to as many people as possible in the future.
