Synopsis

Rafe survived the fight with the renegade Wanderer, Rowle, but was unable to defeat him. As promised, Fate finds Rafe an apprentice. He arrives at Wilford Hall expecting to find a seriously injured veteran, what he didn’t expect to find was a veteran missing a couple of limbs, who was female, the lovely Therese Sylvan. Regardless, his only way to convince her to leave with him is to heal her minor injuries and tell her that he can also restore her limbs. Fleeing just ahead of the military police, they ride into the night on Beast, Rafe’s manticore possessed Harley-Davidson. While Tess recuperates, Rafe begins her training, a long process that is interrupted time and time again by Rowle’s machinations. Rafe knows he cannot defeat Rowle single-handedly, but can he train Tess fast enough to prevent the on-set of Ragnarök?

About the Author:

Richard Bamberg was born in small town Alabama, to a great pair of middle-class working parents. After high school, he enlisted in the USAF. He earned a degree in engineering from Texas Tech and went on to work for Boeing and the Missile Defense Agency. He sold his first novel, Emerald Eyes, to Books in Motion in 1994. Since then he's published seven novels. His novels range from modern action/adventure, to horror, to urban fantasy, and finally science fiction. He’s had numerous short stories published, including one in the award-winning anthology Bending the Landscape: Science Fiction. His hobbies, when not writing, have been fencing, shooting, fishing, RPGs, computer games, and reading. He's an avid fan of SpaceX and their long-term goal of occupying Mars.
