Plagued by troubled pasts, a band of would-be heroes come together to stand united against the forces that seek to destroy their lands. Against all odds they manage to cut a foothold into the enemy ranks, demanding respect from both friend and foe.
All the while agents of darkness prepare a final assault. If they achieve their goals the light will be snuffed out, leaving the world in eternal darkness.
But at what cost is success measured? The heroes must stand and fight. Not because they choose to, but because without them the world is lost. When the dust settles, it's their choices that will determine the outcome of this war. And only then will they have the slightest idea as to what is happening beneath the surface.

About the Author

From an early age, Samuel Rikard was drawn to the realm of fantasy. Monsters and magic, or starships and warlords, there was nothing too farfetched or out of reach. In his early teens, he was introduced to Live Action Role Play. Finding this new and exciting world, he felt at home. Before long he began writing, first details about his characters, then short stories or in-game missives. Developing his style, he found a joy for the craft but never realized it would one day become a career.
After high school, he joined the military, where he trained exclusively with demolitions. While blowing stuff up was fun, it wasn't the life he was after. When able he returned home and began the quest for happiness.
With his love of storyline, he decided to write a book, though he knew nothing of the craft. Through chance, fate, happenstance, whatever you want to call it, he made some professional contacts and began to learn the industry. Proving his dedication and ability to get things done, he was offered a contract. One turned into two, and two became three. And before long he had a full list of industry professionals at his side.
Sam lives in Southwest Missouri with his daughter, Breanna, and their cat, Alona.

Upon knee, they bowed before their new king, awakened to the glory of shadow. The Dreualfar turn to complete their next task. Thousands of Dreualfar swarmed upon unsuspecting lands. Entire settlements were left in ruin. A last stand of Dalari and Alfar pushed back, halting their progression. With balance shifted, the Dreualfar are forced underground and sealed away. Generations of men and gods work to right the wrongs. Overtime many forgot the evil trapped beneath their feet. In a new age, the shadow began to rise. From the ashes of death, four warriors become five, a union forged of blood and fire, The Order of the Trident.
