This book will teach you how to play erhu, the Chinese violin, at the beginner level. No prior knowledge in Chinese music is needed. In addition, you will know the erhu's structure, the ways to choose a good erhu and the numbered music notation. A number of sheet music are also provided for your own practices. After reading the whole book, you should have a basic understanding of the erhu and can play some simple songs by yourself.

In response to my readers' feedback, I have amended the contents of this book in Edition 1.2, which include the provision of:
1) A chapter dedicated to showing how to set up the erhu;
2) More details in the erhu structure and ways to choose an erhu; and;
3) Practices for each of the key signatures.
Also, in the current Edition 1.3, I have standardized various chapters with those in the second edition of the Full version; in particular, the method for overcoming the "cock-killing sounds" has now been incorporated in this book.
Thank you very much!
