Frozen suicides, gunshot victims and shredded corpses. What the hell is going on in Shilsville? And what are the Little Men?
Two men investigate: Dave Renfield, a Native American detective, and Nick Guggenheim, a retired old cop. A combination of tough youth and grizzled dedication. What begins as a series of baffling deaths evolves into a desperate battle for survival against a horror the police can barely believe in. The Little Men have been unleashed and their sole purpose is to slaughter...
It’s kill or be killed – with the lives of an entire town hanging in the balance. A single Little Man is lightning-fast, vicious and utterly deadly... Dave and Nick face a horde of these grotesque beings. The pair emerge from one conflict wounded and exhausted, only to rush for a final lethal showdown...
Can they destroy their relentless aggressors or will the town of Shilsville be exterminated in a wave of relentless carnage?

Reviews from this author’s horror releases:
“...thoroughly spooky, enticing and well written from start to finish.”
“...great... I could feel the fear...”
“…shows true mastery of the short horror story… a wildly imaginative antagonist unlike anything I’ve read before... a quick, captivating read full of horror and thrills. The tense action and suspense of Glancing Blow make it incredibly hard to put down…”
(Glancing Blow – Short Horror Tales #1)
“…When the blood starts to splatter, Nigel’s day gets really rough. Thompson has devised a brilliantly brutal creature to sic on his leading man. Creative and twisted, the monster is a total terror… Hooker is an absolutely insane, blood-pumping ride… With a wicked cool monster and a page-turning climax, this is one Creature Feature you won’t want to miss out on…”
(Hooker – Short Horror Tales #2)
“Great short story...”
(Ignition Source – Short Horror Tales #4)
“...well-written, descriptive and enthralling page-turner, that’s not for the faint-hearted... The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat...”
(God Of War)
“...extremely well written and very dark. The author did a great job of creating a palpable sense of doom that surrounds the main character from the beginning, and then creating more tension and horror as the story went on...”

So what's special about Short Horror Tales?
The vision for each Short Horror Tale is to create a short movie in the reader's mind - usually around sixty minutes long, fast-paced, with vivid characters, disturbing threats and desperate action. The exact type of story will vary - perhaps it will be a supernatural mystery, a deadly hunt, a battle or a very personal drama. Always, there will be something sinister lurking in the darkness.
These are tales I hope you will want to enjoy again and again.
Do all these stories take place in the same creative world?
Most of them do, and readers will see references in stories to events, people and places from other tales. Mr Slowly, a lethal assassin, is the leading character in a number of the stories so far. Think of the world of these Short Horror Tales as our own modern-day world... with a much darker side.
Occasionally, some stories will play out in their own private 'sandbox' - tales, for instance, with catastrophic or apocalyptic themes.
From Reader Reviews for Short Horror Tales:
"This story has a beginning introduction that is a superb insight into the character and endearing him to us. The action comes swiftly and just as you think it's over the author, Ian Thompson, gives us a fresh and exciting twist. The end is satisfying and brings the story back around to where it begun, in terms of the theme and focus of the character. This is thoroughly spooky, enticing and well written from start to finish." - Katie Lewington
"Damn scary 5-Star story"
