About the Author:

My name is Derrick Frohne born April 16, 1985 in Saint Pete-Florida, USA. I am a great great grandson of Karl Elsener, the inventor of the Swiss Army Knife. I am also the son of Ralph Frohne and Judy Frohne. My siblings are Brandon Frohne, Holden Frohne, and Jesse Richardson. I moved to Sevierville-Tennessee at age 5 with my brothers and mother. I went to the public schools in Sevierville until the age of 17 when I moved back to Saint Pete-Florida. I worked in my family's restaurant for many years before I decided I wanted a better future so I enrolled at Saint Pete College and then transferred to the University of South Florida. While a junior at USF, I founded a small business designing electronics. In 2013, I moved to Austin-Texas, USA and founded Gentle Bees. Gentle Bees was founded after I noticed Mecca's lips were chapped and wanted to make a lip balm that would withstand the hot temperatures. After researching, I found beeswax as a natural ingredient to make a lip balm. I tinkered with different natural ingredients until I made a product that would satisfy Mecca's skin and has many healing benefits. After creating the original beeswax lip balm, I began creating other natural flavored lip balms, all natural beeswax candle melts, natural soaps with healing properties, sugar scrub, and a sugar wax which both Mecca and I use currently. I currently spend most of my time expanding the Gentle Bees brand with family.
