For the general public that uses the care of Chinese medicine this book will act as a kind of "Chinese Medical Encyclopedia", where the patient can better understand the "Diseases of Chinese Medicine and the meaning of the terms used by your therapist at the diagnosis (eg: Kidney Yang's Vacuity, Liver's Qi Stagnation, etc). About the Author:
Marco A. M. Vieira began his Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine studies in 1992, obtaining the grade of Superior Technician in Acupuncture-Moxibustion by the Korea Acupuncture Institute (Korea). Graduated in Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Chengdu University of MTC (China) having trained in the same University affiliated Hospitals, in the Chinese Acupuncture and Phytotherapy departments. In 2001 obtained the title of Doctor in Acupuncture-Moxibustion by the Chinese International Examination Center for Acupuncture-Moxibustion- Beijing – P.R. China. The Chinese International Examination Center for Acupuncture-Moxibustion is an inter-university organism created by the State Administration for TCM in Beijing to the foreign Acupuncture Professionals examination. He was the first Portuguese citizen to obtain the title of “Doctor of Acupuncture-Moxibustion” (A-Level) with the Beijing’s notary registration. He has also postgraduate in Acupuncture-Moxibustion in the Japan Acupuncture College (Japan) and in the Santiago de Compostela’s University (Spain). He made his clinical training in the departments of Acupuncture, Tui-Na and Qi Gong of the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Centre and in the departments of Acupuncture and Massage of the Tong Ren Hospital, affiliated to the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences – Beijing – P.R. China. He has obtained several Diplomas in several Centers and Teaching Institutes of the Chinese Medicine in Europe, underlining the Centro de Enseñanza de la Medicina Tradicional China – Madrid, the Centre de Recherche et d’Etude en Acupuncture Traditionnelle – Paris, and the Instituto Português de Medicina Tradicional Chinesa – Lisbon. He concluded his Studies of Post-Graduation in Energetic Medicine/ Acupuncture, under the Dr. Tran Viet Dzung’s supervision, in the Van Nghi Institute -Portugal. He is graduated in Su-Jok Acupuncture by the International Su-Jok Acupuncture Association.
