From a Branch and a String is a fishing and faith memoir that begins on the bank of an Iowa creek where Dave Lindmark fished with grandfather using nothing more than a branch and a piece of string. Mentors and experiences developed Dave's passion for fishing, a passion which in time became an obsession. Something had to change. And it did. Dave started a Minnesota fishing guide service that evolved into Great Expectations Ministries (GEM). His attitude toward fishing was transformed--and so were the lives of youth who attended GEM fishing camps. Dave's book is replete with anecdotes: some funny, some dramatic and some sad. It is his hope that From a Branch and a String will contribute to Fishing for Life, the organization that now owns and operates GEM, and that the book will appeal to those who like to fish and to those who like those who like to fish.
