Synopsis

This book, “DOZ Chronicles: Lara,” is a part of the DOZ Chronicles series and falls under the category of African Women Narratives. It is based on real life experiences and told in the first person narrative by Eturuvie Erebor. It is the story of young Lara, who finds her life slowly falling apart following the sudden and tragic death of her mother. Then at a time when she needs her father most, he abandons the family to seek greener pastures abroad. Lara is left in the care of her older sister, Nike, although this is not a favourable situation for her as Nike hates her and holds her responsible for the demise of their mother. Frustrated, Lara leaves home with nothing but the clothes on her back, the slippers on her feet and her mother’s Bible in her hands. She tries to seek help from the church, but she is turned away by a young overzealous preacher. Years later, Lara becomes a celebrated and sought-after evangelist. In this elevated position, she meets with the preacher who had turned her away from church and the sister who had sent her away from home. Can she truly forgive all that has happened?

About the Author

Eturuvie Erebor (AKA Gabriella), British by birth and Nigerian by descent, is a writer, public speaker, trainer and coach who is incredibly passionate about transforming the lives of women and youth, not only in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, but all across the world. Eturuvie has been speaking to women and youth groups in churches and schools since 2004, and has led her own powerful seminar series entitled “Preparing to Cleave with Gabriella”. As a writer, she has transcribed her seminar teachings into articles, and in 2006, her article “Preparing to Cleave” was published incrementally on the Christian page of the Vanguard Newspaper in Nigeria over a 6-month period. Since 2004, her articles have also been published in various newsletters and magazines, as well as online at FaithWriters.Com. She is also the published author of thirteen eBooks, some of which include, “The Making of a Leader”, “Me, My Husband and My In-Laws”, “Giants Give Birth to Giants: The Impact of a Mentor”, “Leadership Lessons from the Life of Jesus”, “Leadership Lessons from the Life of Moses”, and “Leadership Lessons from the Life of David”. Eturuvie is a “comeback kid”, and has recently broken free (now stronger and better) of a cycle of domestic violence, deceit, betrayal, and finally, divorce. As a result of her personal experience, she is all the more determined to add value to the lives of her fellow women by helping them realise and maximise their potential and to fulfil their destinies – hence her new initiative, “DOZ Network”. In February 2014, Eturuvie took her passion for speaking, training, and coaching to a new level by becoming an Independent Certified Speaker, Trainer and Coach with the John Maxwell Team. Since joining the John Maxwell Team, Eturuvie has established “Leadership Lessons Daily” webinars, seminars and workshops with the intention of training and coaching various kinds of people to help them develop leadership skills and maximize their true potential. Eturuvie also seeks to bring “Leadership Lessons Daily” seminars and workshops to organisations throughout Africa and around the world. She writes and publishes DOZ Chronicles.
