You Don't Know Us is a collection from a community of writers that meet at the Budlong Branch Chicago Public Library. Their essays, short stories and poems are inspired by life events, their imagination and literary prompts, basically wherever the heart guides. It is punctuated with photographs and short bios, which introduce each writer's efforts. This has been a co-operative production, everything; cover art, editing and formatting. Our mission is inspired by the former organization, Neighborhood Writing Alliance's philosophy, which held, "Every person is a philosopher with something to say." The writers range from adults who have not tried to write since high school to professional writers who were looking for a creative outlet; in this anthology, it is a wonder if you can tell the difference.
