Michael Petras holds MS and PhD degrees in materials science, and BS degrees in physics and music with a minor in mathematics. He worked for 26 years in the semiconductor industry, holds 13 patents, and has over 40 technical publications. Dr. Petras currently works on educational materials and methods aimed at improving the interest and understanding of students in math, science, and technology, and has given presentations on a wide range of topics in engineering, physics, and mathematics to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. He is also a member of the governing board of the Arizona Nanotechnology Cluster in Phoenix, Arizona.
