About the Author
JOHANN DAVID WYSS. Escritor suizo (1743 - 1818). En su juventud estudió en la universidad en Alemania, y fue bibliotecario en su ciudad natal. Su fama mundial le viene por haber escrito la novela «El Robinson Suizo», inspirada en Robinson Crusoe de Daniel Defoe. La novela tuvo una gran difusión en todo el mundo, siendo editada por el hijo del autor, Johann Rudolf Wyss e ilustrada por otro de sus hijos. Era un pastor con cuatro hijos y quiso hacer una obra en la que pudiera enseñarles cosas, tal como ocurre en el libro.
