Synopsis
This book has practical and understandable coverage of programming machining centers and turning centers. Machining center and turning center canned cycles are covered with many practical examples. Speeds and feeds, workholding, tooling, and carbide holder and insert selection are also covered. Questions and programming exercises guide learning. Answers to selected questions and programming exercises are included in an appendix. Two chapters focus on quality in manufacturing including coverage of ISO 9001:2015 and statistical quality control.

About the Author
Kelly S. Curran grew up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula where he started working in machine shops at a very young age. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Career, Technical Education and Training from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and an Associateof Applied Science degree with an emphasis in Machine Tool from Ferris State College. He also holds an Associates of Applied Science degree with an emphasis in Business from Northern Michigan University. Mr. Curran has considerable machine shop experience as well as industrial teaching experience. He is an author and co-author of several publications in the machine tool manufacturing field. Mr. Curran has spent many years developing self-paced machine tool curriculum for the State of Wisconsin and Fox Valley Technical College.
Jon Stenerson is the author of several books on machining, CNC programming, and industrial automation. He taught in the Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology program at Fox Valley Technical College. There he taught regular program students and students from industry. He has also taught and consulted in business and industry.
