About the Author:
Escritor español. Creció en Asturias y después se estableció en Madrid. Fue muy amigo de Clarín, quien marco los primeros años de su obra en donde se pueden ver claras posturas democráticas. Los siguientes años, en donde su prosa está mucho más trabajada, aparecen características del costumbrismo regionalista.
