Originally published in 1882 as "Life In Hawaii - An Autobiographical Account Of Mission Life And Labors - 1835-1881." Much of Titus Coan's missions life was spent in and around Hilo, Hawaii on the Big Island. His missionary "parish" extended for almost 100 miles on the southeast to the northeast section of Hawaii Island in the Kingdom Of Hawaii. Besides a stunning record of the "Great Awakening" of the Hawaiian people to Christianity, the book gives vivid descriptions of the native Hawaiian people, their culture, the beauty of the land and contains six chapters of his firsthand observations of volcano's, tsunamis and earthquakes. At one point in the "Great Awakening," Coan pastored what was considered the largest church gathering in the world. (7000+) This is a great book for those who want to be challenged in their faith. This edition has been produced using restored flowing text from an original and is NOT a "Scan Copy."
