Retired Marine Shane Ryan is a ghost hunter whose troubled past haunts him almost as much as the ghosts he encounters in the line of duty. He’s the best. And his reward for excellence? The punishment of being in high demand for jobs to eradicate the worst kind of ghosts – the kind that kill.
His latest assignment is an idyllic island setting with sunny skies, crystal blue ocean and a venerable old lighthouse that makes the scenery picture perfect … except for the malevolent, murderous ghosts marring the living portrait. If Amy, the owner, wasn’t Marie Lafontaine’s cousin, Shane would have steered clear of Squirrel Island and its diabolical dead. But Detective Lafontaine is his do-or-die friend. He’d do anything for her. Even face Dorothy, the undead Evilena who kills anyone invading her unholy domain. Add two shipwrecked couples to the mix and Shane has more trouble than he wants to handle.
Shane’s mission is clear: rid the island of Dorothy and her band of undead while keeping his new charges alive. But how could he know that staying alive meant facing the worst evil ever imagined?

Ron Ripley is a husband and father surviving in New England, a place which seems to be getting colder every day. He grew up across from a disturbingly large cemetery where he managed to scare himself every night before going to bed. Mostly because of the red lights that people put in front of the headstones. Those things are just plain creepy to a kid. Ron enjoys writing horror, military history and driving through the small towns of New England with his family, collecting books and giving impromptu lectures on military history to his family, who enjoy ignoring him during those dreadful times.
"A Creepy and atmospheric tale with one great character after another! Aaaah! I love it! Creepy and at times gory but scary still the same. Shane Ryan is the new hero in Ron Ripley's world and I'm loving him. It's hard to top Moving In and I don't even want to go there but I'm putting this series right up there with it. So good!" - Nancy N.
"Wonderful tale! I am a true readaholic and l love a good supernatural story. I know the protagonist from Berkley Street and I was pleased to get to know him a little better. Great tale and strong characters!" - JustJodi
"Loved the story! As always the characters were amazing and the story was engaging! I can't wait for the next!" - Erika
"Give a book a chance. I did and was ultimately pleasantly surprised." - RWM

"Great! I've read almost all of Ron Ripleys books and this was fantastic! The story was spooky and kept me wanting more. Cannot wait for the next book! I loved this book and the other series." - M. R.
"This is another good book. It was written well with lots of surprises. The characters are so lifelike. I am looking forward to reading the next book as soon as it is available. Keep them coming. Thank you for writing them for our enjoyment." - Reader
"This series just keeps getting better! I read this in one day (& I'm a slow reader). It was THAT good. The tension & suspense kept building higher & higher until the denouement" - Jaimee
"I really like how Shane Ryan's character is fleshing out and becoming even more interesting. He is smart, tough, and willing to do the hard job. He's even a hero of sorts, at least a dark one." - C.M.
"LOVED IT!!!!!! The best yet!!!!! I've read many lighthouse horror stories but this has to be one of the best. There is so much thought put into this story!!!!! It's so original and Shane is like the best hero. He's a real flawed man but I wouldn't want anyone else on my side fighting ghosts!!! Can't wait for the next book!!!!!" - Reader
