Riding a jeepney through town, is exciting from the outside as much as what is happening from within. A teaching book for simple tagalog words, addressing the cultural importance of respecting elders and an activity in exploring personal creativity.
Author's Notes:
My simple goal for this book is to expose my children to a culture that should not be so distant to them. This is an attempt to get a conversation started. Growing up, I was never comfortable with the limited Tagalog that I knew. Lacking the confidence to pronounce the words correctly and complete an entire sentence in the language, discouraged me to keep trying. For those who can relate, we can’t let this language and richness of its culture end with us. The book is not an academic reference. It is for our children to hear the language from us, in hopes that we can continue to hear it from them.
