If you want to become a better reader, Sue Kahn’s recently published Syllable Practice for Reading Accuracy and Fluency is the book to buy. Because dividing words into small, syllabic chunks makes words much easier to read, this workbook helps readers of all levels and ages improve skills in reading accuracy, fluency, and comprehension. The syllable practice exercises combine Sue’s reliable and consistent syllabication strategies with phonetic patterns. Just one, short, daily lesson of two syllable words provides you with an opportunity to apply Sue’s essential syllabication strategies for dividing up words with a specific phonetic skill. The lessons that follow review and build upon the previous ones. Use this guide along with Sue’s Strategies: Best Reading Spelling Method to obtain the decoding tools you need to become a self-confident, successful reader. Dyslexics, English Language Learners, and others love the results of this training since they become more competent readers.Because of her experience parenting a dyslexic son, Ms. Kahn chose to spend over 40 years changing and improving lives. She worked in public schools as a special education teacher. In addition, she evaluated, taught, and consulted in her private practice. Ms. Kahn understands the emotional struggles accompanying reading challenges. Therefore, based on the best educational research, Ms. Kahn developed a method of accelerated learning by adding colorful pictures and memory tactics to multi-sensory instruction. Ms. Kahn’s programs have proven highly successful with people from ages 6 to 60. Dr. Edward Hallowell, author of Driven to Distraction, wrote, “ Sue’s Strategies creates an innovative, valuable, and inspired approach to reading and spelling.”
