Prayer. What does prayer mean to you? I'm sure everyone in his or her lifetime has said some type of prayer even if only to cry out in panic or fear: "Lord help me!"

However, prayer has at times been reduced to repetitious chants or even memorized like a nursery rhyme. Prayer to Almighty God is so much more than either of those. Prayer is about communing with God--the Creator of the universe, the one who put me and you here on earth.

For many years my prayers were vain repetitions. I prayed because it was expected during our time of family Bible reading each night. I never grasped to whom I was praying nor the effect prayer had on my life.
