It came when nobody expected it. More than a year after the accident, and in a period of my life when having to include and worry about a health condition, such as epilepsy, was absolutely the last thing I needed. But I had to accept it if I wanted to move on in life, so I did. I put a great amount of effort into accepting it and together with epilepsy, carried on with my life. Epilepsy brought many changes into my life and it presented me with many challenges. But I strived; I carried on and kept pushing forward, living a constructive and active life. It taught me many new things and it helped me gain an exceptional respect and appreciation for life, which I otherwise would never have had.
