Synopsis

Stranded: photography and music inspired by Katharina (and other magnificent disasters) is a unique collaboration between artists of different mediums and explores what happens to text, image and sound when they are brought together. Photographer Jayce Roberts and musician Gary Norman have each used their distinctive style to create a dazzling counterpoint to David Haight's text to chronicle desperation, hopelessness, and pain. These pieces are a record of an artistic conversation, each layer signifying the artist's response the other. While their individual contributions are clear it is the juxtaposition that creates the transformative effect. In the end, the conversation in Stranded becomes the piece and vice versa. Please note: this is the black and white photography book with text. It's companion piece Stranded: Music and photography inspired by Katharina (and other magnificent disasters) by Jayce Roberts, Gary Norman and David Haight is listed separately. The source material: Katharina (and other magnificent disasters) by David Haight is also available and is listed separately.
