Ellen Norman Stern was born in Germany and spent most of her childhood in Berlin where the music of Kurt Weill and his contemporaries surrounded her. At the age of 11, she emigrated to the United States and settled in Louisville, KY. Her career includes work at the local broadcast station before joining the production staff of the NBC television network in New York. An accomplished author of multiple biographies and a member of The Author’s Guild, Ellen Norman Stern lives in suburban Philadelphia near her children and grandchildren.
